1950
The company Svend A. Nielsen A/S – was founded by engineer Svend A. Nielsen and his wife, as a small family business. In the early years we were a small agency company which sold domestic products for technical heating. Who would have thought that the company would grew so rapidly within the next years?
1960
More and more focus on development and production and the facilities in Copenhagen soon became too small.
The agency slipped into the background, and the company tried to focus more and more on development and production, and in 1960 the facilities in Copenhagen became too small.
1963
We opened a new factory in North Sealand. We moved our production, sales and administration to these premises, while we kept the sales office in Copenhagen open for three more years. We were lucky that most of our employees were willing to move with us.
1972
In 1972 the company was changed into a limited company
1985
In 1985 the son of the Nielsen family, Claus Nielsen, took over after his father, who now retired after 35 years.
1987
Our first foreign subsidiary company was opened in the UK.
From its initial contacts with British Rail in the mid 1982’s and the setting up of a Nationwide trial of the SAN points heating strips, SAN opened its first office at the end of 1987 in Salford, Manchester to support its rail business and promote its industrial heaters.
1994
SAN UK moves to Oldham in 1994, with Harold Comerford running the business initially and then joined by Jenny Comerford in 1999, resulted in an expansion of its rail product range and further promotion of the industrial heaters.
A further move to Hereford in 2005 saw SAN UK continuing the wide support of its rail and industrial products with a respected before-and-after sales service.
1996
Division office in Norway
In order to expand our sales and marketing on the Scandinavian market, it was decided to post a SAN employee with our Norwegian agent.
1998
Once again the facilities became too small, and thus a new factory hall was built.
2001
The Nielsen family sells the company to the Swedish industry group NIBE Industrier.
SAN maintains its position now under NIBE Element as probably the most flexible company in Europe within design and product development of professional electric heating equipment.
2007
New management, new name and new logo
Michael H. Laursen becomes the new Managing Director at SAN. Our focus is now on Wind Power, Railway Sector, Process Industry and Heating Cables.
In 2007 SAN bought Lübcke Rail in Roedovre, which had already for many years been one of our very close partners within sales to the Railway Sector. A decision which has shown to be very giving for both companies.
2015
Since 2015 SAN Electro Heat a/s delivers heating products all over the World.
We are proud to have production facilities in Graested and Roedovre in Denmark; in Shenzhen in China; and sales offices in Shanghai (CN), Frankfurt (DE) and Hereford (UK)
