The Oil Boiler Has Been Replaced with Heat Pumps
At SAN Electro Heat, we have replaced the old oil boiler and installed 15 heat pumps to heat the production halls.
Large CO2-reduction
Since 2019, no oil has been used for heating. With the oil burner, we consumed the equivalent of 350,000 kWh per year for heating. With the heat pumps, this number has been reduced to around 100,000 kWh, and we no longer use any oil for heating. This means a CO2 reduction of at least 70% per year.
Solar Panels Installed to Boost Sustainability
In 2022, SAN Electro Heat installed solar panels on the south-facing roof, with a total capacity of about 45 kW. The solar panels contribute an average of around 40,000 kWh per year.
More Solar Panels in the Future
We are currently (october 2024) building a new administration building for SAN Electro Heat. The plan is to install more solar cells on the roof of the building.
Chimney Without Smoke
Since 2019, no smoke has come out of the chimney. Now we only rent it out to telecommunications companies, providing good mobile coverage near SAN Electro Heat.
