History

We, SAN Electro Heat a/s - or as some of you may know us - Svend A. Nielsen A/S - were founded in 1950 by engineer Svend A. Nielsen as a small family business. In the early years we were a small agency company which sold domestic products for technical heating.

Who would have thought that the company would grew so rapidly within the next years? The agency sales soon slipped into the background. We tried to focus more and more on development and production, and in 1960 the facilities in Copenhagen became too small.

In 1963 we opened a new factory in North Sealand. We moved our production, sales and administration to these premises, while we kept the sales office in Copenhagen open for three more years. We were lucky that most of our employees were willing to move with us.

During the next years we had to extend our production capacity several times by enlarging the existing factory. In 1972 the company was changed into a limited company, and in 1985 the son of the Nielsen family took over after his father, who had now retired after 35 years.

From Family Business to a Company owned by the Swedish NIBE Group

A few years later the company built a new 1500 square meter factory hall. In 2001 the Nielsen family sold the company to the Swedish industry group of companies NIBE Industrier AB - a decession with which we are today very comfortable.

We maintained our position - now under NIBE Element - as probably the most dynamic and flexible company in Europe within design and product development of professional technical heating equipment.

Our market focus in 2003 was industrial process customers primarily on the European market. The engineering and the sparring with customers became our most essential part of our business, which it is actually still today.

The Success continues - SAN Today is Worldwide represented

During the years from 2007 and untill now we have got a new management, the profile has changed again - our company logo has turned into what you see today - and our focus is now Wind Power, Railway Sector, Process Industry and Heating Cables.

In 2008 we bought the Lübcke Rail company in Roedovre, which had already for many years been one of our very close partners within sales to the Railway Sector. A decision which has shown to be very giving for both companies.

Today SAN Electro Heat a/s delivers heating products all over the World. We are proud to have our own production facilities in Graested and Roedovre - Denmark and in Shenzhen - China, and sales offices in Shanghai - China, Frankfurt - Germany and Hereford - England.

Through our membership of the NIBE Industrier AB group of companies, which is represented in more than 40 countries all over the World, we are able to manufacture as well as service our customers worldwide.
